Now when u have a max bid in and people still don’t reach your max bid yet it adds a $1 then auto bids yours a dollar over them and resets the clock every time when they ain’t even close to your max, but then someone comes in with 2hrs left and their bid is higher and it resets the clock and u put another max bid in and it tells u your bid isn’t high enough to reset their clock, something is fishy. If they don’t hit higher then your max the clock shouldn’t reset. This isn’t ebay where u can steal it at the last second. But for it to not reset when the bid went higher or to reset period when they haven’t hit ur bid. Thats one thing I don’t like about this system. Sure it’s good for Harvey’s. But I’ve had to wait over a week to win a auction when no one came close to your max. And then it wouldn’t reset because I was below their max. Does it to me, why not to someone that just pops in with a hr to go? They have 1-2hrs to increase their bids to over my max or it shouldn’t reset imo.
Not sure what you're trying to say, Jared. ~Harvey
The regular bid line will allow clock reset a dollar at a time when they didn’t even get close to your max sniper bid. But if someone does reach your max bid and put in a higher max bid it won’t allow u to reset the clock at a $1 higher. It just did it to me in live time. And on about 10 other auctions. People will bid a $1 higher and it resets every time. I put in a low high bid on purpose and was gonna adjust as needed (no big deal) but when I put in another max bid and it says ah no u have to go $201 higher to reset the clock when people has done it to me for 3days now a dollar at a time. Something is messed up there. I’m not trying to start anything, i buy dozens of guns at Harvey’s. Spend like a grand a month there. Just odd how it can string one person along a dollar at a time but then it makes u go pass another persons max bid to reset when it wasn’t done for u. Really think if they don’t hit your max it shouldn’t reset. They still have time to go higher then your max to reset the clock. I can certainly explain what’s happening with the system next week when I’m in there making some payments. Hard to explain typing it.
We appreciate your business, Jared. Our auction logic is programmed to reset the 24-hour clock each time a new bid is placed. Bidders don't know when another bidder has employed the auto-bid feature and this is by design. If a bidder wishes to end an auction quickly, we recommend placing a bid high enough that others don't wish to bid further. Thanks again! ~Harvey
Thats the issue, when I have a auto bid in and someone else doesn’t even come close, it resets the clock for every dollar. But if someone does put their auto bid in higher. It makes u meet and then beat their auto bid by their auto bid plus $1. When these other bidders didn’t even come close to your max sniper bid but it resets the clock for them. But not for you. If they don’t even come close to your sniper bid, clock should just keep ticking and not reset. There is a problem in the line of code from regular bid and sniper bid. Why can’t I string them along a week at a dollar at a time but they can me just depending on the line they bid on? It isn’t about the $ here. This is a flaw I’ve watched 100x with auctions I’ve won and abandoned. If someone outbids me so be it. I don’t play these bidding wars. Just seems messed up that they can just tack time on a dollar at a time but sniper bidding makes u go pass theirs and a dollar when I see it doesn’t work that way for my sniper bids. I’ll just come in and pay cash if it was about all that. I like the competition. It’s just something screwy with which line u bid on.
Jared - So you're saying that some bids do not reset the 24-hour clock? ~Harvey
